ISLE OF MAN POST OFFICE INFORMATION IN THE EVENT OF "NO DEAL" BREXIT
In the eventuality that the United Kingdom (UK) leaves the European Union (EU)
under a "No Deal" Brexit scenario on 29th March 2019, we take this opportunity
to inform you that this will cause immediate changes to the documentation
required for items of mail posted to countries within the EU, to fall in line with
current rest of world documentation requirements.
At present, postal items posted to countries within the EU are not subject to customs
charges but this would change from 29th March 2019 under the "No Deal"
Brexit scenario. All items posted to destinations beyond the UK (Europe and rest of world)
will require a CN22 customs declaration label if valued at under £270
or a CN23 customs declaration label for items valued over £270,
declaring a full description of contents and their value.
At the time of writing, it is unclear whether there will be a delay to Brexit and
therefore these changes may not come into effect on 29th March 2019
but at a date to be announced by the UK Government.
